Free CPA membership
We are delighted to announce that the REA has joined the Construction Products Association (CPA). The CPA represents the UK’s manufacturers and suppliers of construction products, components and fittings. The sector has a combined an annual turnover of more than £50 billion and accounts for 40% of total construction output.
Membership brings considerable benefits, which costs non-REA member companies £1,625. You now get these for free!
You can let us know which of these you wish to subscribe to – there is no charge – and we will inform the CPA. You can see example publications on the CPA’s website and we have attached an example of a weekly update. You can read more about the benefits member Trade Associations’ members are entitled to on www.constructionproducts.org.uk
Once we pass on your contact details, the CPA will send you the materials you request and provide you with a member’s password, so you can access the members-only area of the CPA site.

Free posting on LowCarbon.com
The REA is pleased to announce that all Renewable Energy companies advertising on the REA website will also be entitled to a free posting on Lowcarbon.com (Normally charged at a rate of £99+VAT). This offer does not extend to recruitment companies.
The same REA advert policy exists, free to members and a minimal fee for non-members. However both members and non-members of the REA will also benefit from this offer at no extra cost. Further details can be found here.
London Hotels
REA has obtained discounted rates for REA members at a London hotel chain. The Grange chain has a selection of hotels across the capital ranging from basic to luxurious, for more information visit www.grangehotels.com . This service is available to all members at any time of the year.
Booking process:
When you wish to make a reservation please email the central reservations desk at reservations@grangehotels.com (corporate email address only) or fax 0207 630 9897.
When placing the booking please quote 'REA' and the the unique ID number provided in the REA newsletter or obtained by contacting Sarah Jane Freni, sjfreni@r-e-a.net, tel: 020 7925 3573. It is possible to book with each individual hotel directly but again the ID number should be quoted.

Grid Connection automated assessment tool
The Grid Connection automated assessment tool helps users find the lowest cost connection to the electricity network including circuits and/or substations. REA members are entitled to a 5.4% discount on their first use of the Grid Connection tool i.e. £950 reduced to £899. Note that if members have received an automated invoice a new invoice will be issued to reflect this discount. CAT accredited training programme for renewable energy installers
The Centre for Alternative Technology (CAT) is currently running industry recognised accredited training programmes for renewable energy installers. The courses are a week long and offer comprehensive training in the following areas: Install and Test PV systems (City and Guilds 2372), solar domestic water heating (BPEC-Accredited).
