Activities

The primary focus of the Ocean Energy Group (OEG) is the progress of energy conversion device development to prove the capability and survivability of full-scale prototypes, and the transitional measures required to finance projects and bring them to commercial fruition.
Legal and consenting issues, the Marine Spatial Planning and the Marine Bill are also areas of interest.
The British Wind Energy Association also has a marine steering group, which has many members in common with the OEG.  The REA aims to work closely with the BWEA on wave and tidal energy issues.
The OEG was instrumental in bringing together a joint industry input and response to the Marine Renewables Development Fund.
