LCBP proves “too popular”

PV support under the LCBP suspended until further notice

2009/03/25 10:15:00 GMT

PV PanelsStream 2 support for PV under the Low Carbon Building Programme (LCBP) has been suspended as the funding pot has run dry.

Following a meeting with framework suppliers it has been confirmed that the PV suspension will remain in place until 3 April when another meeting will be held. Any PV project received after the 13th February, not the 26th February as previously stated, will not be permissible.

The LCBP is due to close in June but DECC announced that PV applications under the scheme had used their entire allocated share of the LCBP funding by February despite an extra £7 million being allocated to this stream in December 2008 to meet demand.

The REA is calling for the reallocation of remaining LCBP funds on a first come, first served basis so all microgeneration technologies can gain maximum benefit.
