EMEC provides fully consented and grid connected sites for testing both tide and wave energy converters. We offer assistance with obtaining device specific consents, a serviced office, an 11kV grid connection, and 24/7 duty manager cover. Through our UKAS accredited wave test site, we can offer impartial verification of collected data. We have facilitated and co-ordinated industry involvement in the development of UK wide standards for the marine renewables industry, culminating in the publication of three standards by the end of 2008 and a further seven by early 2009. Currently the only operational wave and tidal test site in the world.
