REA announces partnership with ITT Hub event in 2020

  • Renewable Energy Association joins the Low Carbon Vehicle Partnership in backing ITT Hub 2020 event
  • New energy and transport focused conference to take place in May 2020 at Farnborough International

The Renewable Energy Association (‘REA’) has become the second organisation to become an Event Partner for the recently launched ITT Hub 2020 exhibition.

As the trade association representing around 550 British companies operating across the renewable energy and clean tech economy, the REA helps its members build commercially and environmentally sustainable businesses whilst promoting clean tech and increasing the contribution of renewable energy to the UK’s electricity, heat, transport and green gas needs.

Its important work includes undertaking policy development and providing input to government departments, agencies and regulators.

As an Event Partner at ITT Hub 2020, REA’s corporate members – who include major multinationals, energy suppliers, service providers as well as installers, project developers and manufacturers across the renewable and clean technologies sector – will be able to exhibit in a dedicated ‘Energy Hub’ area of the show.

Commenting on the announcement, Dr Nina Skorupska CBE, Chief Executive of the Renewable Energy Association said“The energy and transport sectors are at a time of historic convergence. The energy system is becoming more decarbonised, digitized, and decentralised while cars and vans are becoming electrified and the way people use them is expected to shift. Automotive manufacturers are moving into renewable energy and major oil and gas companies are moving into EV charging. It is exactly for these reasons that a event such as ITT Hub, which will bring together the energy and transport sectors in Farnborough in 2020, is crucial and we are delighted to support it as an event partner.”

Mark Griffin, CEO of event organiser Binswood Media said: “We are both delighted and excited to have the REA on board as an Event Partner at the inaugural ITT Hub 2020 exhibition. As well as providing a great opportunity for their members to exhibit at the event in a cost-effective way, their participation reflects the increasingly important role that renewables will play in transport delivery in the years ahead.”

The Renewable Energy Association is the second Event Partner to be confirmed for ITT Hub 2020 which will take place at Farnborough International. They will be joining the Low Carbon Vehicle Partnership, who announced their support for the new exhibition at a recent launch event held at the new £30m facility in Hampshire.

Andy Eastlake, MD of the Low Carbon Vehicle Partnership and one of six guest speakers at the launch event, said: “With so much focus on the car sector, it might be easy to forget the vital contribution, and huge opportunities from the HDV sector. LowCVP is supporting this initiative and will be aiming to show how the Government’s ‘Road to Zero’ strategy is not just for cars, and how it can stimulate a much broader portfolio of technology to decarbonise these complex transport systems.”

Mark Griffin added“The tie up with both the REA and the LowCVP reflects the very enthusiastic response received to date from across the wider transport sector, following the market reveal of our new event concept. A number of major companies that attended the launch event at the beginning of October have already booked stand space. We will be able to confirm some high profile commitment in this regards when ITT Hub 2020 goes on general sale – this will be when Binswood Media exhibits at the Highways UK trade show on 7-8th November 2018.”

Innovation & Technology in Transport Hub (ITT Hub) will be an annual exhibition that will take place at Farnborough International in Hampshire, home of the world-renowned International Air Show. Taking place over two days each May, the first edition of the event – ITT Hub 2020 – will take place 13-14th May 2020, with a dedicated content channel launched in the run up to the inaugural event.
