On 4th February, the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) opened an inquiry on ‘government support for biomass’. The inquiry sought views on:

  • Clarity on assurance around sustainability;
  • The current picture on biomass’ role in generating heat and power for the UK; and
  • Government support for the deployment of biomass.

The deadline for submitting written evidence is 13th February. The REA’s submission, which covers biomass power and biomass heat, is available to read here.
