REAL’s research project – Digestate valorisation

  • Are you looking for new ways to use your digestate?
  • Would you like to receive on overview of commercial and near-to-market technologies designed to add value to digestates?

A new project funded by the Renewable Energy Assurance Ltd (REAL)* Research Hub is assessing the landscape for digestate-derived products and alternative uses, considering commercially ready and near-to-market technologies, to optimise digestate value.

The project delivery team are currently engaging with AD site operators and other stakeholders to best understand current digestate markets, drivers and constraints to alternative digestate uses and product development. We invite AD site operators to complete a short online survey which explores these aspects.

If you are responsible for an AD site in the UK or Europe and interested in this topic please complete the survey at https://forms.office.com/r/dRbUuKK1q0. A German language version of the survey can otherwise be accessed at https://forms.office.com/r/17ypf8ifMq

By taking part in the 10-minute survey you will receive a short summary* on project completion of digestate upgrading solutions, ranging from experimental approaches to commercially available   technologies.

Further information on the project can be found at REAL Research Hub. Specific queries on the project should be directed to [email protected].

*REAL administers the REAL Research Hub funded by operators on the UK compost and biofertiliser certification schemes (CCS and BCS). The Research Hub identifies (through stakeholder engagement) and manages delivery of research projects of importance to one or both schemes. Note that members of the BCS are eligible to receive a copy of the full project report at no additional cost.
