Solar Trade Association
The solar industry and the Solar Trade Association (STA) have a long and distinguished history in the UK. Formed in 1978, the Association was the first representative vehicle for the UK renewable heating industry. The STA represents both solar heating and solar electricity and supports its member companies according to their needs. With 32 years of operation, the STA is one of the first renewable energy associations in the country.
Association for Organics Recycling
The Association for Organics Recycling (AfOR) is the leading trade organisation for the biodegradable waste management industry in the UK. Set up in 1994 at The Composting Association, AfOR has grown in size and stature and now represents a modern proactive not for profit organisation within the wider waste industry. It aims to act as an advocate for the wider biological treatment industries and to represent their views in a constructive dialogue with policy makers. AfOR members voted at an EGM in September 2012 to merge with the REA. As of January 2013, AfOR will become the REA's Organics Recycling Group.

The International Renewable Energy Agency

The Renewables and CHP register is maintained and published by Ofgem (the Office of Gas and Electricity markets). Ofgem also publishes annual reports on the RO and maintains the registry of accredited sites, and the number of FITs installation (available on www.ofgem.gov.uk).
