The REA’s Decentralised Energy Forum has been set up to work on the link between localised renewable energy and the clean energy systems that maximise the benefits from renewables in a smart system. The Forum covers the use of decentralised renewable energy systems for individual buildings, estates, communities, and the industrial and commercial sector.
The Forum provides an opportunity for members to gain a detailed perspective of how their different technologies and roles in the industry affect each other, and how they can work together to benefit all stakeholders in the decentralised energy sector. Forum members include: manufacturers, installers, and suppliers of renewable energy systems, representatives from local government, relevant professional services, and the wider construction industry – essentially anyone who needs to keep up-to-date with developments in decentralised renewables.
The REA Decentralised Energy Forum Mission Statement
There needs to be more comprehensive and holistic policy design for enabling the connection of clean energy systems to facilitate the effective delivery of place-based energy solutions that match both localised generation and demand. This is important for reducing the cost of reinforcing our transmission power infrastructure; increasing the scope of flexibility for consumers; make energy more affordable; deliver green jobs and achieve our Net Zero targets. This can be expected to provide routes to market for all clean technologies and stakeholders in the clean energy sector.
