Renewable Energy Assurance Ltd carries out a range of certification and consumer protection activities all of which promote sustainable energy. Renewable Energy Assurance Ltd’s activities fall under two headings: consumer codes and certification schemes.

Renewable Energy Assurance Ltd is a company limited by guarantee (number 5720606). It was incorporated in 2006 and is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the REA.

Wood Heat Association

The Wood Heat Association (WHA) is the UK trade association for the modern biomass heating industry – bringing together wood fuel suppliers, biomass boiler and stove installers and distributors, energy companies and developers. Founded in 2013 to fully engage the wood heating sector at a regional and local level, the WHA is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the REA, and is the largest wood and biomass heating trade association in the UK representing over 200 member companies.


UK Pellet Council

The UK Pellet Council was set up following an industry meeting in November 2011 and is hosted by the REA. It aims to provide a single body to represent the best interests of all parties directly involved in the UK pellet trade from biomass of any source. The Council oversees UK implementation of the European Pellet Council’s ENplus scheme in the UK, as UK license holder.
