REA announce a new digital video series, Powering the Future – The Path to Net Zero, a collaboration between the Renewable Energy Association and BlackRook Media.

Powering The Future will explore the sustainable development of all forms of renewable energy and sustainable practices. Live initiatives and innovation that can and must effect essential change.  With evidence-based journalism we’ll examine the work of our members and their partners – and their relationship with legislators too.  Stories that come from the heart of the companies, associations, communities and individuals that are driving vital societal progress to a cleaner, safer future.

Trevor Hutchings / Chief Executive / REA said “We’re pleased to be working with BlackRook and using human-led documentary storytelling to reach a wider, global audience beyond the industry. It’s a valuable way to go beyond our usual networks and help more people connect with the important work we’re doing at the REA.”

We are proud to bring this ground-breaking series to life. By sharing the stories of  exceptional pioneers and innovators, we hope to inspire a new generation in adoption and promotion of renewable energy technologies.” says Adam Harrod, Chief Content and Commercial Officer at BlackRook Media.

The company’s Managing Director is award-winning documentary maker Alan Rook. Alan is Creative Director for all films produced in partnership with the REA and will also work as a hands-on Executive Producer across the entire series in 2025 and 2026. He said: “Sustainability has been at the heart of our company’s filmmaking, across industry verticals, for a decade now“We firmly believe that any investment in professional video, whatever the budget we’re working to, absolutely has to provide more than a beautiful set of films. That spend must come with content that has a meaningful shelf-life for lasting value, as well as confidence that the audience businesses want to reach are actually going to see what we’ve produced.”

There will be an extensive distribution campaign which will provide visibility of our collective work through social media and traditional media too. We encourage our members and the wider renewables community to have an exploratory conversation with Adam Harrod and his team at BlackRook Media to see whether this opportunity might be something of interest.
