The second meeting of REA’s Heat Decarbonisation Working Group will bring together members from across our biomass, green gas, energy from waste and geothermal forums to identify shared investment and policy barriers to heat decarbonisation. The meeting will set out REA’s strategic priorities for the year ahead, focusing on heat infrastructure and financing across domestic and industrial heat, including the role of heat networks, waste heat, CHP, geothermal and low-carbon fuels alongside electrification.

We will also identify opportunities for government engagement and showcasing innovation across our membership, using existing forums, events and member activity to demonstrate what is already possible and make the workstream more than the sum of its parts. We’ll explore opportunities linked to the Government’s focus on growth, investment and energy security, alongside the priorities identified in REA’s 100 Days document, with contributions from DESNZ and NESO.
