Road freight decarbonisation has become a pressing priority for UK businesses. Beyond its role in meeting corporate carbon targets, recent global conflict has exposed the risks of relying on imported diesel. Moving freight away from diesel can cut emissions, strengthen energy security and reduce exposure to volatile fossil fuel prices.

To understand what would speed up the transition, the REA and the Aldersgate Group worked with our members, other businesses and wider stakeholders to examine, systematically, what is holding back heavy goods vehicle (HGV) decarbonisation and what would drive faster progress across the economy.

Our findings and recommendations are set out in our new report, found here.
