REA Publishes New Analysis on Effects of Ofgem Price Cap

With Ofgem announcing a 13% increase in the energy price cap from July, fresh new analysis from Matt Parry warns the UK could face its most sustained period of household energy pressure since the height of the energy crisis unless ministers intervene before winter.

The analysis warns that household bills could climb close to £1,900 from October without further support, risking a renewed inflation spike, weaker consumer spending and broader economic slowdown heading into autumn and winter.

In the report, you’ll find updated modelling on household energy costs, inflationary impacts and consumer spending effects.
