Parliament’s Public Accounts Committee has issued a call for evidence on the Government’s resources and waste reforms for England.

Based on an investigation by the National Audit Office into the progress of the strategy, the Committee will question senior Defra officials on:

  • whether the Government has effective plans to achieve its resources and waste ambitions;
  • and whether Defra is on track to successfully implement its main programme, on collection and packaging reforms.

We welcome any evidence from members on the above questions.

The deadline for responding is 28th August. Please send comments and evidence to feed into the REA response to Jenny Grant by Monday 21st August and we will aim to circulate a draft response to members. Read the details on the Call for Evidence here, and read the investigation by the National Audit Office here. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us here.
